Indeed, the word itself has lost its original meaning because dressing up as a ghetto or talking ghetto today has even been appropriated by rich white people. Despite that, the ghetto culture is still present and brought by every generation no matter where they go. However, throughout the years, a lot of people living in the ghetto have made it in life and are doing well. And you are not wrong, because of the horrible case of racial discrimination a long time ago, a lot of black people could not seem to land a job in the better parts of the city and that means a long generation of living in ghetto areas. The first thing that probably comes to your mind when you hear the word ghetto are black Americans. They have created a way or style of speaking, the way they dress and their general attitude and behavior. Ghetto originally refers to an impoverished area of a city where the poor community has to build an entire culture for themselves.
